One of or recent jobs took us to San Marcos, where we turned devastation into a delight!

Coating Repairs. First we removed all of the loose and delaminating concrete, by scraping and grinding, in order to attain a smooth surface.

Deco Seal. We next removed and replaced all of the deteriorating expansion  joint caulking.

Then we performed our custom pool deck resurfacing process.

We applied a textured overlay across the existing deck surface to give it a fresh look.

Scope of work:

-Apply base coat primer over the entire pool surface

-Trowel down acrylic modified cementitious skim coat

-Spray Desert Brand Texture to a knockdown or Orange Peel finish

-Seal using Desert Brand Masterseal

What do we mean exactly?

While we often put down our deck coatings systems over plywood sub-floors, we also re-coat existing concrete surfaces. We recently performed a job in Fullerton, where the decking needs only an overhaul.

Our Flex System was the right call.

The Flex System is a fully waterproofed decking system that is applied right over your existing concrete surface.

1) We apply our specially developed polymer modified concrete base

2) After this dries, we roll out fiberglass matting, and paint on bonder for a complete waterproof seal

3) Another skim coat of concrete is smeared across the deck surface

4) A concrete texture coating of your choice is sprayed on with a pneumatic hopper gun

5) We again seal the deck coating with two coats of our epoxy fortified concrete paint

Encinitas Waterproof Deck Repair Excitement!

Old deck, new deck, heck, we do it all! We recently traveled to sunny Encinitas, where the weather is beautiful, but the decks are battered by the Pacific Ocean air. It was new construction deck, where the owner framed the door and installed the railing around the perimeter. Prestige Deck Coating goes the distance to make sure your new deck is properly constructed and waterproofed. Waterproof deck repair in Encinitas is a cool breeze!

Waterproof Deck Repair

First, we had top remove the existing stucco, in order to access the flashing underneath. It was in poor condition, so we replaced it with diato/combo metal along the house.
Next, we installed custom door pan at the door threshold.

Lastly, we finished up our waterproof deck repair flashing service with drip edge flashing. This was installed along the perimeter of the deck, around the newly built railing.

After securing the foundation with expert flashing repair, we were ready to move on to our custom Crete Deck Waterproofing System.

Our 6 level waterproof deck repair process sets us above the competition.

1) we lay down metal lathe on the freshly flashed plywood sub-floor

2) spread our specially formulated polymer modified concrete

3) roll out and paste our fiberglass and bonder coating

4) apply second layer of concrete mixture

5) spray texture coat of your choice

6) seal surface with our waterproof deck repair paint

Deck Flashing Frenzy!

Let me give you a run down on some of the main types of deck flashing and their uses.

Drip Edge. The name is self-explanatory. It is located around the perimeter's edge and it allows the water to drip off your deck! This is used when the deck has at least one open side. It has a lip on the drip side, in order to keep the water off the fascia board.

L metal

L Metal. Again, this deck flashing is self-descriptive. It is usually placed up against walls. It fits snugly on the deck to wall transition. It keeps the water out of your cracks.

Diato/Combo. As a substitute for L metal, where there are stucco walls. The stucco lies on the top part of the deck flashing, to give you a flush look.

Door Pans. These protect your door threshold from any water seepage. At Prestige Deck Coating, we build custom pans to suit your particular needs!
